Timothy McCarthy, Ph.D. Technical Director: Tim has over twelve years mapping, imaging and navigation experience gained internationally within the main GIS sector areas, including Natural Resources, Utilities, Environment, Security, Central and Local Government. He has designed and developed a range of novel digital video/camera mapping systems, which are used across a broad range of application areas world-wide. He continues to provide R&D support in advanced, cost-effective, image-mapping solutions for the market place. nResearch interests include machine vision for navigation, virtual environments and 'intelligent' mobile spatial devices.

Jonathan Raper, Ph.D. Director: Jonathan is Professor of Geographic Information Science at the City University in London. He is course director for the face-to-face and distance Masters in Geographic Information at City and advises on distance education delivery. He is the developer of the GISTutor computer-based learning package and has presented educational programmes for the BBC. His research interests are in the development of 3D and 4D geographical information systems, the management of environmental information and government information policy. He has held research grants from the Economic and Social/Natural Environment Research Councils, Ministry of Agriculture, Universities Joint Information Systems Committee and the EU and has worked on industrial development projects with the ESRI and Smallword GIS vendors.
